Overall I throuroughly enjoyed this book. The action that Angie Sage creates in the plotline keeps you hooked at even the most dry parts of the book. As I read I grew emotionally attached to the characters and their behaviours throughout the book. This book left me very satisfied overall in the way the plot developed and thickened. I think throughout the story the author is attempting to achieve a sense of mysticism and Angie Sage really does a good job with this in the description of Magyk, the magic preformed in the book. She really impressed me with the how good of a job she did with this and she certainly achieved this sense of mysticism with me. Throughout the story Angie Sage also attempts to create an idea that you are in this medival style time period. She does this through the setting and the actions of the characters such as the way they speak or the way they preform simple tasks. Overall the main mood of the novel was a suspensful mood. This mood made me feel very intrested in the plotline of the story and how it developed. It also again contributed towards my connections with the characters in the book. Angie Sage keeps this mood constant throughout the story with cliffhangers ending most chapters. Lastly, this book I believe was targeted towards all ages but leaning towards younger ages and definetly targeted for anyone intrested in medival type stories as like in Game of Thrones.
